The Syrian Board for Medical Specializations (sboms) has completed the training of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM). This training course was s part of the activities of the ( R4HSSS) project for strengthening the health system in northwestern Syria. The course is in cooperation with the British University of Kings College London.
This training lasted for three months from 30-8-2021 until 25-11-2021. It was carried out through the Medical Education Platform.
The training included the steps for practicing evidence-based medicine, types of studies, and methods of searching for original scientific articles through different search engines and how to criticize them.
18 residents and specialists (male and female) in various specialties had succeeded in the final exam. They have a certificate of completion of training presented, signed by King’s College, Britain.
Noticing that this training will be subject to all residents registered with the Syrian Board for Medical Specialties. This is in order to encourage medical research work and enhance the culture of research publishing in classified and prestigious scientific journals with the aim of raising the level of research effort in northern Syria.
