Nephrology focus on diagnoses and treatment of acute and chronic renal disease, glomerulonephritis, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplant. Nephrology training includes placement of central lines for hemodialysis, doing and reading renal ultrasound, kidney biopsy and managing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis

Tasks and Responsibilities of Scientific Councils

  • Preparation, reviewing and updating the scientific curricula in medical specialties regularly.
  • Supervision the approved training program.

  • Full supervision of the exam process in all its stages.

  • Defining the requirements for recognition of the training centers.

  • Defining the list of scientific references for specialization.

  • Conducting academic educational activities, conferences, courses and workshops.

In case you are new graduated : You can register on the specialty by following the announcements New residents issued by the main identifiers of the SBOMS on Facebook or on the website.


If you are registered before as residents : you can go to the nearest office of SBOMS ( Idlib or Turkey Office)

When can I do the primary exam?

You can do the first written exam at the end of the first year for the 4-year specialties (such as internal medicine and pediatric) , and the end of the second year for the specialties of 5-6 year residency (such as surgery).

When can I do the final exam?

You can do the final written examination after the end of the training period according to each specialization and pass the primary written examination and requires the passage of at least one full academic year between the primary written examination and the final exam .

When are the specialty exams held at SBOMS ?
