History:
A.A., a 52-year-old female patient, sought medical attention at Bab Al-Hawa Hospital’s Emergency Medicine due to injuries caused by a collapsed building during an earthquake on February 6, 2023. The injuries consisted of bruising and crushing wounds, including a nasal cavity and septum injury with nasal bone fractures, as well as a full-thickness lacerated wound extending from the forehead to the upper lip. These injuries were a direct result of the earthquake disaster.

Management:
During surgery:
The surgical operation was performed by the resident doctor, Hossam Othman, and the doctor, Amal Haj Hamadeh, under the supervision of the specialist doctor, Dr. Mustafa Al-Faraj the head of the scientific council of ENT.
The nasal cavity was reconstructed to preserve the anatomical and functional structure of the nose, and a temporary insulating plate was placed between the septum and the nasal turbinates. Approximate sutures were made at various levels to close the incision.
Fellow Up:
The patient’s condition was followed up and the nasal splint was removed two weeks after the surgery. When the patient returned to the ENT clinic at Bab Al-Hawa clinics two months after the accident, doctors found that she regained nasal respiratory function and the nose shape was closer to normal, despite her chronic illnesses.
