The Syrian Board of Medical Specializations (SBOMS) proudly participated in the pediatric scientific conference organized by the Syrian American Medical Association (SAMS) and the Idlib Health Directorate on September 16-17, 2024.
Dr. Abdul Basit Suleiman, Chairman of the SBOMS Scientific Council of Pediatrics, emphasized in his opening speech the crucial role of such conferences in enhancing the skills and knowledge of medical staff in Syria.
The conference covered key issues including malnutrition management, esophageal strictures, heart rhythm disorders, acute seizure treatment, children’s headaches, cystic fibrosis, and pediatric anemia. Syrian doctors from the USA significantly contributed with excellent scientific lectures.
The conference included contributions from pediatricians, both residents and graduates, who presented their research and case reports through the poster exhibition. This event was an important platform for sharing experiences and enhancing communication among Syrian doctors, whether they are based locally or abroad
This conference reflects the importance of cooperation between different health authorities to promote continuing medical education and develop the capabilities of medical staff, thus contributing to improving health services provided to children in Syria.
